About
Matilda has been dancing a variety of styles from commercial jazz, ballet, acrobatics, and other styles from the age of three. She attended Bilborough college in Nottingham leaving with A levels in dance drama and biology, after studying with ex-Rambert dancer Damian Hurst.

Matilda went on to receive a first-class honors degree in Dance from the University of Derby, based at Deda, performing works from Constella opera ballet, Johhny Autin, and more. Due to her commitment to the course, Matilda received a Vice Chancellor award for her additional hard work during her studies.

Matilda completed her Masters in Dance and Choreography at Deda, in 2022 creating her own thirty-minute work, fusing dance and science, as a learning experience for audiences.

Through Matilda's company, 'East Lab Dance Company' she received Arts Council England funding in 2023 for her new children's dance theatre piece 'Frocks, socks and the orange fox'. The piece has since toured at libraries and community settings across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, and additionally at the 'Made with Many Festival' in 2024. Also through East Lab, Matilda works with a variety of schools and nurseries, including St Andrews SEN FE Campus, to deliver dance and movement workshops.
Matilda is now Early Years lead at Derby Theatre, coordinating dance and arts provision for early years children in the local community. Matilda is also associate artist for 'Live and Local' helping to deliver dance projects to local communities.
